Boardmasters 2010

The highlight of the UK surfing calendar is Europe's biggest surf, skate and music festival. It brings world class surfing to Newquay, along with seven nights of music and skateboarding on Fistral Beach. The 5 Star world qualifying is the pick of the week with some of the worlds best surfers competing for over $100,000 in prize money. The Vans Summer Sessions is the skate equivalent with a total prize purse of $20,000.

Surf Relief Festival

A one day family friendly beach festival to benefit the charity Surf Relief UK. This event really has it all: a pro-surfing competition, lifesaving tournament, beach games, family activities, all rounded off with the Sunset Sessions, a live music festival taking place right on the sand.

UK Surf Rowers League Summer Series

Under the banner of authentic Aussie beach culture, burly men (and women) don speedos and singlets to pit themselves against the ocean. Teams of four, guided by their sweep (helmsperson), race their surfboats out through the breaking surf and all being well, catch a wave back in again.

Zapcat King of The Surf - Rounds 3 & 4 - Watergate Bay

Engineered for speed through the surf, Zapcats were made for Watergate Bay. These infatable catamaran powerboats are the Rottweilers of the ocean, and the crews love racing here so much they stage four rounds of their Grand Prix series over two separate weekends, including the champion-deciding final rounds in September.

The 2009 World Belly Board Championship - Chapel Porth

The 2009 World Belly Board Championship

The 2009 World Belly Board Championship is a charity event run by the National Trust and RNLI, and sponsored by Skinners Brewery. It takes place at Chapel Porth beach near St Agnes.

The event celebrates the origins of surfing in Britain. It's the brainchild of two keen local surfers: Chris Ryan (Chapel Porth National Trust Car Park Attendant) and Martyn Ward (RNLI Lifeguard Supervisor).
